Fka Twigs Coachella Festival Performance

INDIO, Calif. — FKA Twigs announced Wednesday that she has been forced to withdraw from the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival later this month due to ongoing visa issues, which have also caused her to reschedule several tour dates across North America.

The 37-year-old singer, whose real name is Tahliah Debrett Barnett, expressed her devastation in a social media statement. “I’m devastated to share the news that due to ongoing visa issues, I am not able to see through any of my scheduled tour dates for the remainder of April across North America, including Ceremonia and Coachella,” she wrote.

In March, Twigs postponed performances after discovering that an error led to her visa paperwork not being submitted on time. This delay not only affects her Coachella performance but also her planned show at Ceremonia in Mexico City scheduled for Sunday.

To fill Twigs’ slot at Coachella, the singer and songwriter Lykke Li will take the stage during the festival’s second weekend. Meanwhile, Weezer is set to perform during the first weekend.

Twigs promised her fans, “I am working to reschedule the affected dates as quickly as possible,” acknowledging the disappointment this news brings to those who have made plans and spent money to attend her shows.

She mentioned, “It pains me to say this because I am so excited to bring you a creation that I have poured my soul into and believe is amongst my strongest work.” This announcement follows her recent completion of the UK and Europe leg of her tour, concluding in London on March 22.

In addition to postponing her North American shows, Twigs has rescheduled performances in Prague and Berlin due to shipping issues. Her latest album, Eusexua, released in January, peaked at number three on the UK Albums Chart.

Twigs is not the only artist facing cancellation challenges; Brazilian singer Anitta, 31, also withdrew from Coachella last month due to unexpected personal reasons. Anitta expressed her regret, stating, “I was really looking forward to being at Coachella this year, but due to unexpected personal reasons, I won’t be able to perform.”

As Coachella approaches, this year’s festival will feature numerous headline acts, including Bad Bunny, Billie Eilish, and Blackpink, attracting thousands of music fans to the desert.
