Florida State Football Kent State Game

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — No. 7 Florida State University (FSU) returns to the field on Saturday, September 20, at 3:30 p.m. to host the Kent State Golden Flashes at Doak Campbell Stadium. The game will be broadcast live on the ACC Network.

The Seminoles, currently 2-0, are looking to build on their strong start after enjoying a bye week. FSU began the season with a notable 31-17 victory over then-No. 8 Alabama on August 30 and followed it up with a dominant 77-3 win against East Texas A&M on September 6. This weekend’s matchup will be the Seminoles’ first non-conference game.

Head coach Mike Norvell, now in his sixth season with a 35-27 record at FSU, leads the team into this contest. The Golden Flashes come to Tallahassee with a record of 1-2. They opened their season with a 21-17 victory against Merrimack College but suffered losses in their subsequent games, including a 62-14 defeat by Michigan State on September 6 and a recent 31-28 loss to Buffalo on September 13.

This Saturday’s game marks the first-ever meeting between FSU and Kent State. The Seminoles have a historical edge against teams from Ohio, holding an impressive 11-0 record against them and 7-0 against teams in the Mid-American Conference (MAC).

Florida State is heavily favored in this matchup, sitting at a 44.5-point favorite with an over/under set at 55.5. Injuries and player availability may play a crucial role in the contest. Notably, starting cornerback Squirrel White is expected to play after recovering from a hand injury, while wide receivers Lawayne McCoy and Jeremy Dreyden are also looking to return from injuries.

The game will kick off at 3:30 p.m., but there is a chance it could start a few minutes later. Fans have been eagerly awaiting this showdown and can expect updates from Noles247 throughout the game.
