Flywire Expands Partnership with Workday to Streamline Higher Education Payments

BOSTON, Oct. 16, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Flywire Corporation, (Nasdaq: FLYW), a global payments enablement and software company, has announced an expanded partnership with Workday, Inc. The collaboration will integrate Flywire’s payments and software platform with Workday Student, a student information system that automates student operations, financials, academic planning, and registration.
This integration aims to streamline billing and payments for global higher education institutions using Workday Student. Flywire is now recognized as a Workday Certified provider, enhancing its capabilities in these institutions. By integrating Flywire’s specialized payments technology with Workday Student, institutions can improve administrative efficiency while managing their billing processes more effectively.
Workday Student unifies academic records, financial aid, billing, and academic advising, eliminating data silos and reducing manual work. Its mobile-friendly interface provides students with easy access to course registration and financial information. The integration will allow institutions to offer hundreds of payment options and facilitate payments in native currencies directly through their accounts.
“By integrating with Workday Student, we’re providing a comprehensive solution that benefits both institutions and their students,” said David King, Flywire’s CTO. “We’re thrilled to deliver meaningful value to higher education institutions and families.”
Additionally, Flywire can integrate its Student Financial Software (SFS) with Workday Student to assist institutions in managing payment plans and overdue collections. This real-time data synchronization ensures that students and their families can access up-to-date account information through Flywire’s portal.
With this integrated system, Flywire claims a potential reduction of up to 40% in billing inquiries. Furthermore, all payment updates will be posted back to Workday Student in real time, giving administrators clearer insights into student financial activities.
Another significant benefit of the partnership is Flywire’s handling of 529 plan disbursements while removing the reliance on paper checks, thus improving payment processes. Amherst College, an early adopter of this integration, highlighted faster reconciliation and fewer manual interventions following the implementation.
This partnership marks another step for Flywire in enhancing its education market presence, supporting over 4,800 clients across 240 countries in more than 140 currencies. Flywire’s platform will help streamline operations for educational institutions, enhancing student experience and operational efficiency.
