LOS ANGELES, CA — The Foo Fighters have released a new single titled “Asking for a Friend” and announced their 2026 North American stadium tour.
The tour, named the “Take Cover Tour,” will start on August 4 in Toronto and conclude on September 26 in Las Vegas. The band, known for their 15 Grammy Awards, will be joined by special guests Queens of the Stone Age, as well as Mannequin Pussy and Gouge Away on select dates.
Fans can register for presale access until Sunday at 11:59 p.m. PT. Foo Fighters newsletter subscribers can buy tickets starting October 28 at 10 a.m. local time. General sales will start October 31 at 10 a.m. local time.
This tour marks the Foo Fighters’ first extended live shows in the U.S. since 2024. The band had a turbulent year, highlighted by the dismissal of drummer Josh Freese. They made their live return in September with a few U.S. pop-up dates and a tour of Asia, their first with new drummer Ilan Rubin, who previously played with Nine Inch Nails.
<p"Asking for a Friend" is the second single from the Foo Fighters in 2025, following the July release of "Today Song." Frontman Dave Grohl described it as a song for those who are waiting for hope to appear. He mentioned, “It’s about searching for proof when hanging by a wish until the sun shines again.”
The most recent Foo Fighters album, “But Here We Are,” was released in 2023.
