Former IAS Officer and Actor K Shivaram Passes Away at 70
Former IAS officer and actor K Shivaram, known for his diverse career spanning bureaucracy, acting, and politics, has passed away at the age of 70 in Bengaluru.
Shivaram, born to drama master Kempaiah and mother Chikkaboramma in Urugahalli village, Ramanagar district, made history by being the first to clear the UPSC exam in Kannada, a significant achievement in 1986.
Starting his journey with a job in the state government after matriculation from the Government High School in Malleswaram, Shivaram later ventured into the intelligence wing of the police department as a police reporter.
His foray into acting gained prominence with the 1993 blockbuster “Baa Nalle Madhuchandrake,” directed by Nagathihalli Chandrashekar, marking a successful stint in the entertainment industry.
Despite his success in acting, Shivaram continued to excel in his bureaucratic career, retiring as the Bengaluru regional commissioner in 2013 after years of dedicated service.
Post-retirement, Shivaram delved into politics, associating with various parties including Congress, JD(S), and eventually BJP, contesting in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Bijapur.
Shivaram is survived by his wife Vani Shivaram and a daughter, who is married to Kannada actor Pradeep, leaving behind a legacy of achievements in multiple fields.
