Former Kingfisher Villa Sold to Actor Sachiin Joshi, Renamed King’s Mansion

GOA, India — The iconic Kingfisher Villa, once owned by businessman Vijay Mallya, was sold to Bollywood actor Sachiin Joshi in 2017. Now known as King's Mansion, the property spans 12,350 square feet across three acres and features luxurious amenities.
Previously a symbol of Mallya’s extravagant lifestyle, the villa was synonymous with lavish parties attended by elites. Following allegations of a Rs 900 crore loan default involving IDBI Bank, banks seized the villa as part of their recovery efforts. In 2017, after unsuccessful auction attempts, Joshi purchased the property for Rs 73.01 crore.
Joshi, who is also known for his liquor brand King’s Beer, aims to integrate that branding with the villa’s new name. At the unveiling of King’s Mansion, he expressed his excitement about sharing the space with the public. “Today is the day I open the gates to the world,” he said, highlighting the villa’s grandeur.
Vijay Mallya remains in the UK amid ongoing legal troubles. The sale of his former villa stands as one of the few recoveries made by Indian banks against debts he incurred.
Sachiin Joshi, son of JMJ Group founder Jagdish Joshi, began his film career in 2011 with the movie Azaan and has appeared in several films, including Mumbai Mirror and Jackpot. He is married to former actress Urvashi Sharma and has been involved in various business ventures through his company Viiking Ventures.
King’s Mansion continues to attract interest, not only as a luxurious property but also as a piece of Bollywood history.
