Former Nhl Player Jason Krog Joins Vancouver Canucks As Skills And Skating Coach

The Vancouver Canucks have made a significant addition to their coaching staff by bringing on former NHL player Jason Krog as their new Skills and Skating Coach. Krog will be working closely with both the Canucks’ main team and their AHL affiliate, the Abbotsford team.

This hiring comes as a result of the Canucks looking to fill the void left by their former skills coach, Brady Keeper, who was recently promoted to an assistant coach role under head coach Travis Green. Keeper departed to join the coaching staff of the Ottawa Senators.

Jason Krog, a native of Fernie, has an impressive hockey background that includes playing in the BCHL for the Chilliwack Chiefs and excelling at the University of New Hampshire. His extensive experience in the sport, both as a player and a coach, makes him a valuable addition to the Canucks organization.

Throughout his career, Krog has proven himself to be a skilled and dedicated coach, having worked with various teams and programs such as the Burnaby Winter Club, SFU Red Leafs, and academy-level hockey teams.

Notably, Krog’s playing career saw him compete in over 200 NHL games and earn recognition for his outstanding performance at the University of New Hampshire, where he won the prestigious Hobey Baker award as the NCAA’s top player in 1999.

Having played under the guidance of former Canucks coach Bruce Boudreau during his time in the minors, Krog credits Boudreau with helping him develop as a player and coach. This shared history adds an interesting layer to Krog’s connection to the Canucks organization.

Krog has also worked with current Canucks players in the past, demonstrating his ability to connect with and mentor young talents. His coaching expertise will be crucial in helping the Canucks players refine their skills and improve their performance on the ice.

Overall, the addition of Jason Krog to the Canucks coaching staff marks an important step in the team’s commitment to developing their players and achieving success on the ice. With Krog’s experience and dedication, the Canucks look set to benefit greatly from his expertise as they strive for excellence in the upcoming seasons.
