Former President Barack Obama Declines Cameo In Three Body Problem Series

David Benioff and DB Weiss, renowned for their success in the fantasy genre with ‘Game of Thrones‘, were unable to secure a cameo appearance from former President Barack Obama for their latest project, the adaptation of Liu Cixi’s sci-fi novel ‘Three-Body Problem’.

The creative duo revealed that Obama turned down their request despite being a fan of the original novel. Obama humorously stated that he would reserve himself in case of a real alien invasion, declining the cameo opportunity.

The ‘Three-Body Problem’ series premieres on Netflix this week and promises a captivating storyline revolving around defending the planet from invading aliens, inspired by Liu Cixi’s bestselling novel which has garnered massive acclaim since its release in 2008.

David Benioff and DB Weiss expressed their fascination with the complexity of Liu Cixi’s novel, emphasizing its uniqueness compared to anything they had previously encountered. The duo described it as a departure from their work on ‘Game of Thrones’ and a fresh challenge to bring to the screen.

Colleagues Alexander Woo and the talented ensemble cast including John Bradley, Benedict Wong, Liam Cunningham, Jonathan Pryce, Rosalind Chao, Jess Hong, Zene Tseng, Eiza González, and Marlo Kelly, have poured their talents into breathing life into this ambitious project.

With ‘Three-Body Problem’ being the first installment of a trilogy, Benioff and Weiss are gearing up for potentially another decade of work. Their aim is to match the success of ‘Game of Thrones’ and see the series through to its third season, as they anticipate a long-term commitment to bringing this epic tale to audiences worldwide.
