Forsaken 64 Nintendo 64 Game

REDMOND, Wash. — Nintendo announced that Forsaken 64, a first-person shooter developed by Acclaim Entertainment, will launch on the Nintendo 64: Nintendo Classics Mature 17+ app on September 4. This marks the fifth game added to this subscription service, which requires an active Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership.

Originally released for PC in April 1998, Forsaken 64 was ported to the Nintendo 64 in May 1998. The rights to the game are currently held by NightDive Studios, which remastered Forsaken for PC and Xbox One in July 2018. The game allows players to control a bike-riding mercenary battling mechanical foes in a post-apocalyptic setting.

The game is noted for its split-screen multiplayer, supporting up to four players, and is considered a classic within the niche of futuristic shooters. Players enter the game by choosing between Single Player Mode or Multi-Player Mode, with various bike attributes affecting gameplay.

The announcement comes alongside other mature titles on the platform, including Turok Dinosaur Hunter and Perfect Dark. Forsaken 64 will be available for download starting at approximately 9:00 PM Eastern on September 4. Players must access the title through the Mature N64 app dedicated to 18+ rated games.

This latest addition appears to support recent speculation about a lineup of N64 games set to arrive on the service, suggested by blurred box art revealed in May 2025. Titles like Glover and the original Super Smash Bros. were also identified in the leaks. Nintendo has maintained a selective approach to expanding the selection of games available, with Forsaken 64 being the first addition since October 2024.
