Liverpool, England – Jeremie Frimpong left the field with an apparent hamstring injury during the first half of Liverpool’s match against Eintracht Frankfurt on October 22.

The Netherlands international, signed for £29.5 million from Bayer Leverkusen this summer, was slotted in as a right-back as Liverpool aimed to break a four-game losing streak.

Frimpong showed signs of discomfort when he pulled up while running and immediately grasped his hamstring. He fell to the ground, prompting manager Arne Slot to call for Conor Bradley to take his place.

This injury is a setback for Frimpong, who has already experienced an earlier injury since joining Liverpool. His role was considered vital by Slot, who mentioned before the match that Frimpong’s ability to deliver from the flanks was crucial.

“We are hoping and expecting Jeremie to create opportunities for our two forwards,” Slot commented ahead of the game, reflecting on the team’s strategy against Frankfurt.

Despite the early setback, Liverpool quickly rebounded. Rasmus Kristensen scored first for Eintracht in the 26th minute, but Liverpool responded with goals from Hugo Ekitike, Virgil van Dijk, and Ibrahima Konate, turning the match in their favor.

The Reds entered the match in the midst of a troubling losing streak, having lost five matches in a row for the first time since 1953. They had started the season strong, winning their first five games before this current downturn.

Liverpool aims to revive its season and continue its UEFA Champions League journey with this match against Frankfurt.
