Gabriel Basso Shares Hilarious Clint Eastwood Stories on Fallon

LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Actor Gabriel Basso, known for his role in Netflix‘s *The Night Agent*, shared humorous behind-the-scenes stories about working with legendary filmmaker Clint Eastwood during an appearance on *The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon* on January 15, 2025. Basso, who stars in Eastwood’s latest film *Juror #2*, recounted memorable interactions with the 94-year-old icon.

Basso, who plays James Sythe, a man accused of murdering his partner in *Juror #2*, described Eastwood as both intimidating and endearing. “I think he called me an idiot,” Basso joked, recalling a conversation with Eastwood on set. “You know, what do you say to Clint Eastwood? He’s seen it. He’s done it. He’s been everywhere…You are not as cool as he is. So, you just kind of sit there, and you’re like, yeah, you know, whatever you say, boss…I’m an idiot.”

One of Basso’s favorite moments involved Eastwood eating Cheez-Its outside his airstream trailer. When an “attractive young woman” walked by, Eastwood nodded at her, and she waved at Basso. Eastwood then offered her the Cheez-Its. “And it was like, what the h— is going on? And it worked,” Basso said, laughing.

*Juror #2*, which opened in U.S. theaters on November 1, 2024, marks Eastwood’s latest directorial effort. Meanwhile, Basso’s Netflix series *The Night Agent* is set to return for its second season on January 23, 2025.

Basso, who gained widespread recognition for his role as Peter Sutherland in *The Night Agent*, has also appeared in films like *Super 8*, *The Kings of Summer*, and *Hillbilly Elegy*. His collaboration with Eastwood has further solidified his status as a rising star in Hollywood.
