LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Gal Gadot shared a heartfelt message on social media reflecting on a challenging year that included the birth of her fourth daughter, Ori, and a serious health scare in February 2024. The actress detailed her experience in a recent interview, urging fans to prioritize their health.

In an appearance on a morning news show, Gadot recounted how she had suffered from severe headaches for three weeks while eight months pregnant. “I didn’t listen to my body,” Gadot admitted. “I was in the dark, I couldn’t hear anything. It felt like my head was about to explode.”

Despite multiple consultations with neurologists who diagnosed her with migraines, it was her mother who insisted on further examination. “After three weeks, she told my husband, ‘Enough. We need to get her checked, do an MRI,’” Gadot recalled. Reflecting on the day of her hospital visit, she said, “It was like the world was ending.”

After her mother’s insistence, Gadot underwent an MRI, which revealed a major brain clot. “I was rushed to the hospital for treatment and underwent a thrombectomy within a couple of hours,” she explained. “Had I known before, it could’ve been much easier, but nevertheless, I’m very happy to be alive and grateful for everything. Just check yourself.”

During her interview, Gadot expressed her decision to speak publicly about her ordeal to raise awareness about women’s health issues, particularly during pregnancy. “There wasn’t enough awareness regarding complications during pregnancy,” she said. “It took me a good few months to get back to myself, and I want to share my story to encourage others to listen to their bodies.”

In her Instagram post, she reflected on the birth of Ori during a time of uncertainty. “Her name, meaning ‘my light,’ wasn’t chosen by chance,” Gadot noted. “Before the surgery, I told [my husband] Jaron that when our daughter arrived, she would be the light waiting for me at the end of this tunnel.”

Gadot also praised the medical team at Cedars-Sinai for their support. “Thanks to an extraordinary team of doctors and weeks of dedicated care, I made it through and began the road to recovery. Today, I am fully healed and filled with gratitude for the life I’ve been given back,” she concluded.
