LOS ANGELES (Saturday, Sept 20, 2025) – The LA Galaxy fought hard but ultimately lost 3-2 to FC Cincinnati at Dignity Health Sports Park on Saturday night.

The game marked the second meeting between the two teams, with LA Galaxy and FC Cincinnati now tied at one victory each in their series. Their first encounter was a 2-0 win for LA on June 22, 2019, at TQL Stadium.

In this match, Cincinnati took an early lead with goals from Ender Echenique and Brenner Souza. Echenique scored in the 10th minute and Souza quickly followed with another goal in the 22nd minute.

Joseph Paintsil got LA on the scoreboard in the 38th minute with a header from a Diego Fagundez assist. Cincinnati responded late, with a second goal from Souza in the 88th minute. MAuricio Cuevas brought LA back within one in injury time, scoring in the 90+1 minute.

Postgame, LA Galaxy Head Coach Greg Vanney praised his players’ efforts despite the loss. “A lot of chances had gone missing,” he said. “Proud of the effort. Wish we would’ve made some better decisions in some of the final actions.”

Next Saturday, LA Galaxy (4-17-9, 21 points) will host Sporting Kansas City (7-18-6, 27 points) also at Dignity Health Sports Park. The game is set to begin at 7:30 p.m. PT.
