Gap China Partners with Centric Software for Digital Transformation
Baozun Brand Management (BBM), a subsidiary of Baozun Inc., that’s overseeing the Gap® brand business in China, has entered into a strategic partnership with Silicon Valley–based software company, Centric Software. Together, they are launching and executing a project spanning retail planning, Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), and Supply Chain Management (SCM). This initiative aims to empower Gap’s evolution within the local market.
Within this collaboration, Centric Software’s core products, Centric PlanningTM and Centric PLMTM, will be implemented to establish a digital foundation for data and processes. The objective is to facilitate Gap’s transformation from planning to product go-to-market, leveraging Centric Software’s end-to-end solutions.
Since its inaugural store in China in 2010, Gap, a renowned fashion brand and the flagship of global specialty retailer The Gap, Inc., has experienced growth across China, garnering brand recognition as well. Following the acquisition, Baozun Inc., has overseen Gap’s operations in China since 1st February 2023, with Gap’s China business now integral to Baozun Inc., under the BBM business line.
As Gap’s brand entered a new developmental phase in the Chinese market, BBM actively sought a digital technology solution. The goal is to enhance product design capabilities with a focus on localization, fortify the responsiveness of the local supply chain, and elevate the overall shopping experience for consumers.
Chris Groves, CEO of Centric Software, expresses gratitude for earning BBM’s trust in undertaking this substantial project. He emphasizes that Centric Planning and Centric PLM will enhance efficiency and profitability, stimulate creativity, and expedite product time-to-market. The collaboration between Centric Software and BBM is anticipated to continue, fostering further advancements in the future.
