Gary Sinise Mourns Son Mac Sinise's Passing From Rare Cancer

Actor Gary Sinise is remembering his son, McCanna Anthony ‘Mac’ Sinise, who passed away on January 5 due to a rare cancer called Chordoma at the age of 33.

Sinise, known for his roles in movies like ‘Forrest Gump‘ and his work with the Lt. Dan Band, shared the heartbreaking news on his official website and social media.

Mac’s battle with Chordoma began in 2018, around the same time his mother, Moira Harris, fought and won against stage three breast cancer.

Despite several spine surgeries and the disease’s progression, Mac, a graduate of the University of Southern California, remained dedicated to his music, producing an album titled ‘Resurrection & Revival.’

Joining his father’s foundation and playing shows, Mac made a mark as an exceptional drummer and musician.

In a touching tribute, Sinise expressed the family’s heartache over the loss, praising Mac’s courage and determination throughout his fight.

Mac’s passing marks the end of a 5 ½ year-long battle with Chordoma, leaving behind a legacy of resilience and creativity in the face of adversity.

In honoring Mac’s memory, the Sinise family is committed to releasing his album, ensuring his passion for music lives on.
