Gian Piero Gasperini As Roma Press Conference

ROME, ITALY – NOVEMBER 01: AS Roma coach Gian Piero Gasperini addressed the media ahead of a crucial Serie A match against AC Milan at San Siro. The match, scheduled for November 2, 2025, is vital as Roma aims to secure its position at the top of the league.

Gasperini spoke about fitness concerns within the team, particularly regarding star player Paulo Dybala. He confirmed Dybala is recovering well from past injuries, stating, “He has everything he needs… His consistency is down to the fact that – without the injuries – he’s able to play.”

The coach expressed confidence in his squad’s progress, emphasizing the importance of the upcoming match against Milan, who currently sit in fourth place. A victory would mean Roma takes sole possession of first place, while a loss could see them fall back into a tightly contested league scenario.

Despite the high stakes, Gasperini avoided escalating tensions with Milan’s manager, Max Allegri, noting that his focus is solely on Roma’s performance. He commented, “Both teams have got off to an excellent start. I’ll let other people talk about targets or other things.”

He also highlighted the team’s strong performance so far this season, leading Serie A with 70 points. However, Gasperini stressed the need for improvement, especially on the offensive front. “Our target really is to try and improve, to involve all the players as much as possible,” he said.

Gasperini addressed the formation and tactics for the match, hinting at a 3-5-2 setup that would utilize Cristian Cristante and fresh contributors like Neil El Aynaoui. He remains optimistic about his squad’s attacking potential as they prepare to face a formidable Milan defense.

With injuries affecting some key players, Gasperini remains focused on getting the best out of those who will take the field. “Games change… and you have to always be very alert and read games well,” he explained, emphasizing the need for adaptability during tight matches.

As Roma aims to maintain their momentum and secure their top position in Serie A, the clash against Milan promises to be a defining moment in their season.
