Geelong Cats Face Brisbane Lions in AFL Preliminary Finals Clash
The much-anticipated AFL Preliminary Final 2, featuring the Geelong Cats against the Brisbane Lions, is set to take place at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). The match, scheduled for a 2.30 pm start in the MCC Reserve, will determine which team advances to the season’s final showdown.
Members looking to attend the event must ensure they have renewed their membership for the 2024/25 season. Access to this match is exclusively available to Full and Restricted members, with the possibility for each member to purchase a maximum of two visitor tickets. All tickets for this exciting match went on sale to members starting at 9.00 am AEST.
Seating arrangements in the Members’ Reserve include specified access for different membership levels. Members can enjoy a variety of dining facilities, including the Members’ Dining Room, the Jim Stynes Grill, and Missymu by Shirley. Reservations for these dining options were made available from Tuesday, September 17.
To ensure safety and a smooth entry process, the MCG has introduced new Evolv touchless security technology at all entry gates. This system enhances security while allowing patrons to pass without removing items from their bags.
No general public parking will be available in Yarra Park for this event. However, arrangements have been made for accessibility and accredited passholders to pre-book parking via Ticketek. Additionally, the G-Train Mobility Shuttle Service will be operational, providing free and accessible transport within the MCG for patrons facing mobility challenges.
Enhancing the match day experience, the Australian Sports Museum will be open, offering half-price tickets for attendees. The museum features an array of exhibits celebrating Australian sports, including AFL, cricket, and Olympic achievements.
Furthermore, visitors can take advantage of the sensory-friendly spaces and hearing loops available at the MCG to ensure all attendees can enjoy the match comfortably. MCC members and their guests can also explore the MCC Library and Museum, with exhibitions available on match days.
