Gene Simmons Crash Pacific Coast Highway

Malibu, California — Rock legend Gene Simmons is recovering at home after crashing his SUV Tuesday afternoon on the Pacific Coast Highway. The incident occurred just before 1 p.m. in the 25000 block of the highway, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Authorities say Simmons, 76, lost consciousness while driving his Lincoln Navigator, leading him to collide with a parked vehicle. A witness called 911, prompting deputies and firefighters to respond to the scene. When first responders arrived, Simmons was speaking to them and informed deputies he had fainted before the crash.

Following the accident, Simmons was hospitalized for evaluation but has since been released. His wife, Shannon Tweed, shared with NBC4 Investigates that he is now recuperating at home. She noted that recent adjustments to his medication may have contributed to the incident and emphasized that Simmons needs to stay hydrated, which he reportedly dislikes.

In a voicemail, Simmons reassured fans that he is doing fine. Despite his recovery, Tweed mentioned that her husband’s health issues still need to be addressed before he resumes his usual activities.

Scheduled just weeks before KISS’s special three-day reunion event in Las Vegas, Simmons’s crash has raised concerns among fans. The band is set to perform from November 14-16, celebrating their 50th anniversary.
