Georgia’s Favorite Margarita Revealed Ahead of Cinco de Mayo 2025

Savannah, Georgia — A recent study involving more than 2,400 respondents (excluding Alaska) has identified Georgia’s favorite margarita just in time for Cinco de Mayo 2025. The study, conducted by Serve & Savour, found that margaritas are a popular choice across the nation, with one in four Americans saying they are their favorite cocktail.
As Cinco de Mayo approaches on Monday, May 5, Georgians are embracing their love for margaritas. The study revealed that Georgia’s top choice is called “The Traditionalist.” This drink is served on the rocks and boasts a classic lime flavor made with Jose Cuervo, complete with a salt rim.
“This marg doesn’t mess around,” wrote Serve & Savour. “It’s for states that respect tradition and prefer their drinks like they prefer their advice: strong and to the point.” The research also highlighted other states that share this preference for The Traditionalist.
Meanwhile, the study indicated that the most popular margarita in the U.S. is known as “The Chill Sophisticate,” which is served frozen with classic lime flavor and Patrón, also finished with a salt rim. This drink has gained a following in various other states as well.
