Get Creative with Lego: Fun Printing Workshops in Wellington
Wellington families are in for a treat with some exciting workshops happening over the next two weekends. Local artist Alex Williams is hosting fun printing sessions using Lego, aiming to spark creativity in both kids and adults.
The workshops will take place at the Wellington Community Centre on Saturdays, August 3 and 10, from 11 am to 1 pm. Alex is passionate about creating vibrant prints, paintings, and even large wall murals, and she can’t wait to share that love with others.
These workshops are perfect for little ones aged five and up, and parents can join in for free with each paying child. Everyone will get the chance to make and take home a bunch of prints, along with a special printed notebook.
Alex excitedly shared, ‘The possibilities are endless! You can create patterns, pictures, or even write your name backward using Lego pieces. We’ll learn how to ink up our plates with a roller and use relief printing ink to make some amazing prints.’ She’s ready to offer plenty of inspiration and support throughout the sessions.
Participants will not only enjoy printing on paper but will also decorate their own notebook covers with their unique designs. The workshops are designed for small groups of eight, ensuring everyone gets the attention they need.
With her experience as an art and primary school teacher, Alex runs a variety of creative workshops for all ages. She mentioned, ‘I love working with patterns, ceramics, architecture, and everyday objects. Everything I do is inspired by my sketchbook practices.’ Recently, she has created a beautiful wall mural for a teaching space at a local business called A House of Cake, and she has been busy painting shop windows with a stunning ‘secret garden’ theme at a cafe situated on High Street.
If you’re interested in joining the fun, tickets for the Lego printing workshops are priced at just £14 and can be booked online.
