New York Giants Rookie Qb Jaxson Dart

DUBLIN, Ireland — The New York Giants secured their first win of the season by defeating the unbeaten Los Angeles Chargers 21-18 on Sunday, with rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart leading the charge in his starting debut.

Dart completed 13 of 20 passes for 111 yards and threw one touchdown. He also demonstrated his mobility by rushing 10 times for 54 yards, including a touchdown on the ground. This victory marks a turnaround for a Giants team that struggled at the start of the season.

The defense played a crucial role in the win, pressuring Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert throughout the game. The Giants defense limited Herbert’s effectiveness, showcasing a strong performance against a formidable opponent.

Giants head coach Brian Daboll expressed pride in his rookie quarterback and the team’s overall resolve. “Jaxson stepped up when we needed him the most. The team rallied around him, and we made the plays necessary to win,” Daboll said.

Meanwhile, the Chargers fell to 3-1 following their first loss of the season. Herbert finished 20-of-37 for 230 yards with one touchdown and one interception as he struggled to find rhythm against New York’s aggressive defense.

In other significant games across the league, the Eagles defeated the Buccaneers, keeping their record perfect, while the Ravens faced injury concerns amidst their matchup with the Chiefs.

The Giants look to build on this momentum as they prepare for their next game. This victory not only boosts their standings but also provides a morale boost after a rocky start to the season.
