Gloria Hunniford's Husband Stephen Way Passes Away

Gloria Hunniford, the beloved veteran broadcaster, has shared the sorrowful news of her husband Stephen Way’s passing. After more than two decades of marriage, the 84-year-old Hunniford is left grieving the loss of a man she described as a giant in her life.

Stephen Way, who was 85 years old when he passed away, had been bravely battling an illness. Gloria expressed her sadness in a heartfelt statement, noting that his absence would leave ‘the most enormous void not only in my life but our entire family.’

In her touching tribute, Hunniford described Stephen as a ‘gentleman’ whose kind spirit and quirky sense of humor never faded, even in his final moments. They shared a joyful 25 years together, filled with beautiful memories that she will cherish forever.

The family revealed the news of Stephen’s passing, stating, ‘It is with huge sadness and very heavy hearts that we share the passing of Stephen Way, Gloria’s beloved husband, who lost his battle yesterday afternoon.’

Hunniford reflected on the deep love and happiness they found together. ‘A bright shining light has dimmed, and he shall be missed at every turn,’ she remarked. Friends like Eamonn Holmes also expressed their condolences, sharing in the sorrow of this great loss.

Stephen Way played a significant part in Hunniford’s life, even being the one who delivered the news of her former husband Don Keating’s death back in 1997. The couple met at an event in London before tying the knot in Kent in 1998, a year after Don’s passing.

During their time together, Gloria recalls how Stephen proposed while they were on holiday in Barbados. She fondly reminisced about a moment in the pool where she struggled to swim, which led to a vulnerable yet loving proposal.

In May 2023, Stephen had revealed he experienced partial blindness due to a stroke, but he maintained a positive outlook. Hunniford continues her work in broadcasting and charity, dedicated to honoring her late daughter, Caron Keating, who also faced cancer.
