Pac Man 45th Anniversary Halloween Game

Mountain View, California — On October 30, 2025, Google launched a special Doodle to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the classic arcade game PAC-MAN with a Halloween-themed twist. The new game invites players to guide PAC-MAN through eight challenging levels, which include four unique haunted-house mazes created in collaboration with Bandai Namco Entertainment, the game’s parent company.

Players are tasked with helping PAC-MAN chomp on pellets while avoiding the colorful ghosts: Blinky, Inky, Pinky, and Clyde. Each haunted house reflects the personality of its ghost, making it essential for players to pay attention to their designs. To turn the tables, players can grab Power Pellets to chase the ghosts.

This new Doodle, which goes live on the Google homepage, allows users to interact and play using arrow keys on their computers or mobile devices. The classic aesthetic is enhanced with festive designs, including PAC-MAN in a witch’s hat or a mummy costume.

The original PAC-MAN debuted in 1980, first in Japan and later in the U.S. that October. Originally named something else, the character was eventually renamed PAC-MAN, which has since become a cultural icon.

Users can play the Doodle today and tomorrow, making it a perfect way to take a break and enjoy a slice of gaming history. As fans reflect on the nostalgia of steering PAC-MAN through mazes, many share their experiences playing the new game with excitement.
