Gracie Abrams to be Honored at Women Sharing the Spotlight Event

LOS ANGELES, March 13, 2025 — Gracie Abrams and her all-female team will be honored at the inaugural Women Sharing the Spotlight event at The Peppermint Club on March 27, which aims to recognize 50 women in the music industry while fostering support for upcoming talent.
The event, hosted by She Is The Music, in partnership with Live Nation Women and media partner The Hollywood Reporter, celebrates Women’s History Month and serves to create a powerful network for women in music. During the evening, Dr. Stacy L. Smith from USC’s Annenberg Inclusion Initiative will present findings from the latest Inclusion in the Music Business report alongside TuneCore CEO Andreea Gleeson.
Each of the 50 honored women is encouraged to bring a younger woman in the industry to foster connections and establish mentorship opportunities. Jody Gerson, co-founder of She Is The Music, emphasized the importance of community, stating, “Our ethos is women supporting women. When women create sisterhood, that’s when we see real change.”
Gracie Abrams expressed gratitude in a statement, saying, “Being surrounded by such an incredible team of women has changed the way I see everything. I am deeply honored to be recognized by She Is The Music, as they have done so much to uplift women in this industry.”
Alicia Keys, another co-founder, stated, “Gracie Abrams and her incredible team are living proof of what happens when women uplift each other. She Is The Music is about breaking barriers and ensuring the next generation of women in music has the opportunity to lead.”
The evening will also feature a discussion on the Annenberg report, which highlighted that only 13 percent of leadership roles in the music industry are held by women, a statistic that has remained stagnant for years. Gerson acknowledged the slow progress, adding that the goal is about “elevating women, not knocking men down.”
Gerson asserted, “We can’t afford to sit back. It’s time for the executive ranks to reflect the diversity of the industry.”
As the event approaches, the call for diversity and equitable representation in leadership roles remains urgent, especially within the music industry, which continues to grapple with gender imbalances. With industry leaders coming together to advocate for change, this event is expected to be a cornerstone in empowering the next generation of female talent.
