Graham Norton Taylor Swift Chat Show

London, England – Talk show host Graham Norton earned accolades on social media for intervening during a potentially awkward moment involving pop star Taylor Swift and actress Jodie Turner-Smith on his show last week.

During the October 3 episode of The Graham Norton Show, Swift promoted her new album, The Life Of A Showgirl, and discussed her recent engagement to NFL star Travis Kelce.

A spectator from the audience, identified as Sammie Nicole, posted on TikTok revealing that a part of the interview where Turner-Smith asked Swift about baby plans was cut from the aired segment.

Sammie described the moment, saying, “When Graham was talking to Taylor about the upcoming wedding and planning it, Jodie suddenly asked, ‘And what about babies?'” Swift initially misunderstood and replied that children would not be at her wedding, saying, “Oh no under-18s are coming, just adults!”

Turner-Smith then clarified, “No, no I mean are you going to have babies?” This prompted audience discomfort, which Sammie noted by criticizing the appropriateness of such a personal question.

Sammie said, “I just felt really uncomfortable when she said that. A, she might not want kids; B, she might not be able to have kids; and C, even if she can and will, it’s none of your business. Don’t ask someone that.”

Fortunately for Swift, host Graham Norton quickly jumped in, saying, “That’s an off-camera conversation to have,” and moved the dialogue along.

This response received positive feedback from TikTok users, many of whom were grateful for Norton’s tact. Comments included, “I can’t believe she asked that” and “Good on Graham for immediately not allowing that question to be humored for even a second.”

During the segment, Swift also showcased her engagement ring and relayed how Kelce proposed in a romantic garden setting back in August. She enthusiastically stated, “He went all out. Ten out of ten.”

As the episode aired, fans were curious about Swift’s upcoming wedding, with the singer indicating she will not rush to plan it, prioritizing her album promotions first.
