The 2024 Grand National at Aintree Racecourse is set to captivate millions of viewers worldwide, marking a significant event in the annual racing calendar. The iconic steeplechase, known for its thrilling action and prestigious history, will see the defending champion, Corach Rambler, vying to retain the title amidst a competitive field.

With a global audience estimated at around 500 million, the Grand National remains a standout attraction in the world of sports, drawing in fans and enthusiasts from all corners of the globe.

The live broadcast of the Grand National will be aired on ITV1, with coverage starting on Thursday, April 11, building up to the main event on Saturday, April 13. Viewers can also stream the race on X with a valid TV license and an ITV account.

Over the years, the broadcasting rights for the Grand National have shifted between different channels, with ITV currently holding the rights until 2026. The race has seen various changes to enhance safety and viewing experience, including the alteration of the start time from 5:15pm to 4pm.

Sulekha Varma, the Jockey Club‘s north west head of racing, emphasized the importance of optimizing ground conditions and ensuring participant welfare, leading to adjustments in the race format. These modifications aim to maintain optimal jumping ground and reduce potential risks during the steeplechase.

The lineup for the Randox Grand National Handicap Chase features notable contenders such as Emmet Mullins, Gary Moore, Gordon Elliott, Willie Mullins, and several other prominent trainers and jockeys, each aiming for victory in the prestigious event.
