Counties in the Greater Cincinnati Area are issuing alerts regarding the potential development of severe weather, including possible tornadoes, on Tuesday. All counties in Northern Kentucky, Southwest Ohio, and Southeast Indiana are under a moderate, level 4 out of 5, risk of severe weather, as per the National Weather Service. There is also a tornado watch for most of the Greater Cincinnati area.

There is a flood warning in effect for certain areas, and high winds along with large hail are expected. The National Weather Service has warned that the storms expected could produce strong tornadoes, with the greatest threat anticipated in the afternoon.

The Boone County Emergency Management Agency is directly sending alerts to residents’ phones and devices. They recommend individuals have multiple methods of receiving alerts and warnings. CodeRED, a mass notification system, allows residents to sign up to receive updates about severe weather and other emergencies through text, email, or voice call.

A spokesperson for the Kenton County Offices mentioned that the agency did not have the capabilities to alert residents about severe weather. Monitoring the county’s official website for real-time updates was advised for residents.

The Hamilton County Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency posts alerts and preparedness tips on their social media pages, along with sending alerts via email to county-wide partners such as public works, schools, and emergency services.
