Greg Gutfeld Fatherhood New Daughter

NEW YORK, NY — Greg Gutfeld, the late-night talk show host known for his edgy humor, recently opened up about the dramatic shift in his life after welcoming his first child at the age of 60. In a personal essay, Gutfeld shared insights on the lessons he is learning as a new parent and how his priorities have evolved.

“So becoming a parent at my age is forcing me to learn things many of you learned in your 20s, 30s, and 40s – that you have to think about someone else. And for me, that’s tough,” Gutfeld wrote in the piece. His daughter, Mira, was born in December 2023, and since then, Gutfeld’s life has been nothing short of transformative.

Gutfeld, who previously described his lifestyle as “selfish,” acknowledged in his essay that he has “mastered the art of being selfish,” but now he must adapt to his new role as a father. “Once you have a kid, you can’t regret anything you did before that because to change the past would erase the possibility of that child,” he noted.

The changes in Gutfeld’s life are also reflected in his home. In July 2024, he and his wife, Elena Moussa, purchased a $10.5 million loft in SoHo, designed to accommodate their growing family. Gutfeld praised Moussa for her strength during pregnancy, analogizing the experience to a “nine-month tour of duty.”

“And for that reason, we should treat moms like conquering heroes,” he added, highlighting the challenges faced by new parents.

On his show, The Five, Gutfeld humorously commented on his struggles with fatherhood, admitting, “I’m terrible at everything.” He insisted that while he provides emotional support, his wife is the more hands-on parent and he often finds himself “kept away from it.”

Gutfeld’s foray into fatherhood comes alongside celebrations about his daughter’s arrival. In a light-hearted message on social media, he shared, “See, that’s how you keep a secret,” following the baby’s birth. The comedian also humorously expressed gratitude for the well-wishes from fans.

The couple first met in 2004 during a business trip to Portugal. Gutfeld, then an editor at Maxim UK, felt an instant connection with Moussa. “I met her and I go, ‘Oh, that’s my wife.’ I just knew it,” he recalled. Their relationship blossomed quickly, leading to their marriage just five months after meeting.

Aside from their burgeoning family, Gutfeld maintains a close-knit home life, which includes their French bulldog Gus, who has garnered attention on social media for his playful antics.

In issues beyond personal life, Gutfeld has demonstrated a commitment to social causes. During the Russia-Ukraine conflict, he took steps with his Fox News colleagues to assist Moussa’s family, securing safe passage for her mother from Ukraine. Gutfeld spoke highly of his peers, calling them “unbelievably awesome” for their heroic efforts in such turbulent times.

Gutfeld joined Fox News in 2011, subsequently launching his own late-night show, Gutfeld!, which airs weeknights at 10 p.m. He has also become a noted author, with several books making the New York Times Best Seller list.

As he navigates parenthood for the first time, Gutfeld continues to balance his commitments in the public eye while embracing the joys and challenges of raising a child.
