Greg Gutfeld Fox News Inauguration Episode

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Fans of Greg Gutfeld‘s late-night show were left disappointed Monday night when Fox News preempted his scheduled episode to continue coverage of President Trump‘s inauguration festivities. The network announced the change around 9:35 p.m. ET, with Gutfeld himself tweeting, “Hey all @Gutfeldfox is getting bumped tonight and will air tomorrow. Don’t yell at me kids. Not my call.”

The special episode, taped earlier at the Daughters of the American Revolution Constitution Hall in front of a live studio audience, will now air Tuesday, January 21, at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT. The 3,700-seat venue marked the largest in-person audience for Gutfeld’s show, which has become a ratings powerhouse for Fox News.

According to Nielsen live-plus-same-day data, “Gutfeld!” has dominated the 10 p.m. ET timeslot over the past year, drawing the most total viewers across all of cable TV and ranking as the highest-rated show in cable news among viewers aged 25-54. The show’s panel for the inauguration episode included Kat Timpf, Kennedy, Walter Kirn, and Tyrus.

Fox News replaced Gutfeld’s show with a two-hour live broadcast of “Hannity” from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. ET, followed by “Fox News @ Night” from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m. ET. The network cited the ongoing inauguration coverage as the reason for the schedule change.

Gutfeld, 60, has been in the spotlight recently for both professional and personal milestones. In November, he and his wife, Elena Moussa, welcomed their first child, a daughter named Mira. The host joked about the experience earlier this week, saying, “If you are shocked at me having a brat at 60, imagine how I feel. When my wife told me she was pregnant, mine was the first diaper she had to change.”

Despite the preemption, fans expressed their disappointment on social media. One user wrote, “Bro, for real? Can you at least crash the set of whatever show they’re gonna air? C’mon… would be a classic Gutfeld moment.” Another pleaded, “NO NO NO NO. I protest. Who can I call to protest?”

Gutfeld clarified the situation in a Facebook post, stating, “Gutfeld! will not air tonight due to continuing coverage of President Trump’s Inauguration. For the latest, stay tuned to Fox News.” The host is expected to return to his regular timeslot Tuesday night.
