GTA V PC Update Set to Launch with Major Enhancements on March 4

LOS ANGELES, CA — Rockstar Games announced today that a significant update for Grand Theft Auto V on PC is scheduled to be released on March 4, 2025. This update will introduce several next-generation features that have been available on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S versions.
The forthcoming update is designed to enhance the gaming experience with the addition of advanced ray tracing capabilities, including ambient occlusion and global illumination, which will be exclusive to PC players. Additional features include support for AMD’s FSR1, FSR3, and Nvidia’s DLSS 3, which aim to improve graphics performance, as well as faster loading times leveraging SSD and DirectStorage technology.
Rockstar stated that players will also benefit from increased support for higher resolutions, framerates, and aspect ratios, along with Dolby Atmos audio for an immersive sound experience. “This update is about providing PC players with the best possible version of the game,” said a Rockstar representative.
Alongside the graphical improvements, significant gameplay enhancements will also be introduced. Players will have the chance to access new vehicles and upgrades at Hao’s Special Works. However, the update will separate the original version of GTA Online on PC into its own instance, meaning that players on the legacy version will not be able to interact with those who upgrade.
“This separation allows players to experience the benefits of the new features without hindrance,” the representative added.
Current players will receive the update at no cost, providing accessibility for both existing users and newcomers to the franchise. Notably, gamers will also see improved gameplay options through features like new vehicles, modified auto shop experiences, and a dedicated Wildlife Photography Challenge.
The release marks a pivotal moment for GTA V, which originally launched in 2013. Rockstar has continually added updates across platforms, ensuring that players enjoy the latest gaming innovations. As part of its commitment to enhance player experience, Rockstar also revealed plans to support the upcoming Grand Theft Auto VI targeted for release on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
“We’re thrilled to evolve GTA Online and incorporate new elements that cater to our dedicated PC community,” said the representative. “We can’t wait for players to experience this new chapter.”
