LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Legendary rock band Guns N' Roses has confirmed the amicable split from longtime drummer Frank Ferrer, as announced in a press release issued Wednesday. Ferrer’s departure comes after nearly two decades with the band, during which he helped shape their iconic sound.

Ferrer joined Guns N’ Roses during a live performance in June 2006 and became the group’s longest-serving drummer. The release expressed gratitude towards Ferrer for his friendship and creative contributions. “The band thanks Frank for his friendship, creativity, and sturdy presence over the past 19 years, and they wish him success in the next chapter of his musical journey,” it stated.

The statement also included a nostalgic look back at Ferrer’s tenure, highlighting his role in anchoring the rhythm section during numerous tours featuring key members Axl Rose, Slash, and Duff McKagan. His final performance with the band occurred on November 5, 2023, in Mexico.

Prior to his time with Guns N’ Roses, Ferrer played with new wave band The Psychedelic Furs offshoot Love Spit Love and New York rockers The Beautiful. He has been involved with New York City band The Compulsions since 2004, toured with The Dead Daisies, and formed the band PSSR in 2019. Details regarding Ferrer’s next musical ventures remain unclear.

Guns N’ Roses has not yet announced a replacement for Ferrer. The drummer’s exit precedes the band’s upcoming tour, titled “Because What You Want and What You Get Are Two Completely Different Things Tour,” which is set to begin on May 1 in Incheon, South Korea. The tour will continue through July, featuring performances across Asia, the Middle East, and Europe.
