Gwen Stefani’s Love Advice: Keep a ‘Third Party’ in Marriage

Hollywood, CA — Gwen Stefani shared heartfelt insights about her marriage to Blake Shelton during her Walk of Fame ceremony. The singer revealed that her relationship thrives on a ‘third party’—God—who she says watches over their love.
While appearing on ‘The Drew Barrymore Show,’ Stefani mentioned the best advice she received about love, stating, ‘Best advice would probably be, make sure you have a third party.’ She pointed upwards, indicating her belief in a higher power guiding their relationship.
Stefani, known for hits like ‘Don’t Speak’ and ‘Hollaback Girl,’ first met Shelton in 2015 on the set of ‘The Voice.’ They began dating after finalizing their divorces from their previous spouses. The couple tied the knot in July 2021 in a private ceremony on Shelton’s property.
When asked to pick between a date night out or in, Stefani opted for a cozy evening at home. ‘For sure in,’ she laughed, describing evenings spent on the couch with snacks and their dogs nearby. ‘Blake’s on that couch, and we’re like ‘Hi!’ I would sit next to him, but he’s gigantic, and we don’t fit anywhere.’
The couple has collaborated on several duets, such as ‘Nobody But You’ and ‘Happy Anywhere.’ Stefani has three sons from her previous marriage to Gavin Rossdale, while Shelton embraces his role as a stepfather, expressing the seriousness he places on the responsibility.
‘Even though I’m a stepparent, I take that job very seriously,’ Shelton said about raising Stefani’s children. He announced in 2022 that he would step back from his coaching role on ‘The Voice’ to focus on family life. ‘This isn’t about me anymore and never will be again,’ he added, emphasizing his commitment to his family.
