SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Gypsy Rose Blanchard, now 33, has publicly condemned her ex-boyfriend Nicholas Godejohn, who is serving a life sentence for the murder of her mother, Clauddine “Dee Dee” Blanchard.

In a recent Instagram post on June 25, Gypsy reflected on her own experiences since the 2015 incident, asserting that she has accepted her past and the consequences of her actions. “When I accepted my sentence, I accepted the weight of my choices,” she wrote. “I served my time. That was my accountability and I’ve carried it for years.”

Gypsy, who pled guilty to second-degree murder and served eight years of her 10-year sentence, emphasized that she is holding Godejohn accountable for his decisions. “Nicholas made the decision to move forward with that night,” she stated, adding, “He is not exempt from the consequences of that choice.”

Despite acknowledging Godejohn’s mental health challenges, Gypsy was firm in her stance that his condition does not justify his actions. “Mental health is complex, but accountability matters and no one is above the law,” she stressed.

The reality star, who is now the mother of a five-month-old daughter named Aurora, shared that Godejohn’s conviction was the result of thorough legal proceedings. “His fate was decided by a panel of judges, prosecutors, lawyers, and 12 jury members,” she explained. “The Justice system has decided. This case is closed.”

Gypsy highlighted her commitment to healing and moving forward, stating, “This next chapter is one of healing. Of growth. Of reclaiming my life.” She reaffirmed that she will no longer bear the burden of Godejohn’s choices, declaring, “I’ve taken responsibility for mine.”

In a heartfelt conclusion, Gypsy expressed gratitude to her supporters for their unwavering encouragement, stating, “Your love has meant more than words can say.”

Reflecting on the trauma of her past, she remarked, “I recognize that nothing I say can undo the trauma or bring Dee Dee back. But from the depths of my heart, I will continue to express my sincerest apologies to them, now and always.”
