Helen Hunt to Discuss Career at NMSU Event April 10

LAS CRUCES, N.M. — New Mexico State University’s Creative Media Institute will host Academy Award-winning actress Helen Hunt on April 10 for a talk about her illustrious career in film and television. The event, which is free and open to the public, is part of the Las Cruces International Film Festival.
Beginning at 2 p.m. in the Mark Medoff Theater at the ASNMSU Center for the Arts, Hunt will engage with NMSU students and community members alongside LCIFF executive director Ross Marks. In this discussion, she will reflect on her accomplishments as an award-winning actress, writer, director, and producer.
The Medoff Theater is expected to be filled with attendees eager to hear insights from Hunt, who has an extensive body of work in films, theater, and television. She received critical acclaim for her performance in “As Good As It Gets,” for which she earned an Oscar for Best Actress, along with a Golden Globe and a Screen Actors Guild Award.
Hunt is also well-known for her role as Jamie Buchman on the iconic television series “Mad About You,” where she garnered four Emmy Awards, four Golden Globe Awards—including three as lead actress—and a Screen Actors Guild Award. Some of her recent film credits include “I See You” and “The Night Clerk,” and she is currently working on a film with Dustin Hoffman, directed by Peter Greenaway.
The Las Cruces International Film Festival runs from April 9 to 13 at the Allen Theatres Cineport 10.
