HONG KONG — PlayStation Plus subscribers in Hong Kong are receiving a unique lineup of free games for January 2025, with DEEEER Simulator: Your Average Everyday Deer Game replacing The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe. The discrepancy marks a rare regional variation in Sony‘s monthly game offerings.

PlayStation Plus Essential, the service’s entry-level tier, provides subscribers with online multiplayer access and a selection of free games each month. While most regions receive the same titles, Hong Kong’s lineup diverges this month. Subscribers there will receive Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League and Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered, alongside DEEEER Simulator instead of The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe.

No official explanation has been provided for the regional difference. The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe, a critically acclaimed narrative-driven game, is known for its unique storytelling and humor. DEEEER Simulator, on the other hand, is a chaotic sandbox game reminiscent of Goat Simulator, where players control a deer causing havoc. Despite mixed critical reviews, the game has garnered “Very Positive” user ratings on Steam.

PlayStation Plus offers three membership tiers: Essential, Extra, and Premium. The Essential plan includes monthly free games, online multiplayer, and discounts, while higher tiers provide access to a larger game catalog and additional features like cloud streaming and classic titles.

Looking ahead, PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers can anticipate the addition of 11 new games to the service. Among them is the PS2 classic Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings, set to release on January 21. The game, originally launched in 2009, will feature enhancements such as up-rendering, rewind functionality, and custom video filters.
