Horror-Comedy ‘The Parenting’ Trailer Promises a Wild Weekend Getaway

LOS ANGELES, March 2, 2025 – Max has unveiled the trailer for its upcoming horror-comedy film, “The Parenting,” directed by Craig Johnson. The film revolves around millennial couple Rohan and Josh, portrayed by Nik Dodani and Brandon Flynn, who invite their families for a weekend getaway at a rented country house. However, their plans take a terrifying turn as strange occurrences unfold around them.
As the weekend progresses, Rohan and Josh soon realize that a demon, utilizing the body of actor Brian Cox, is wreaking havoc on their gathering. This supernatural twist escalates the tension and forces the couples to fight for their survival.
While the trailer showcases a blend of horror and humor, it promises comedy reminiscent of well-loved genre films. Viewers can expect a mix of light-hearted gags alongside the suspense, with a cast that includes familiar faces such as Vivian Bang, Dean Norris, Edie Falco, Parker Posey, and Lisa Kudrow.
In addition to the chilling plot, fans of Cox, known for his role as a grumpy patriarch in HBO’s “Succession,” might be intrigued to see him in a bizarrely humorous role that features his character in both comical and precarious situations.
“The Parenting” is set to premiere on Max on Thursday, March 13, 2025. For those eager for more updates on this film and other upcoming releases, stay tuned to io9 for the latest news.
