Lucas Mosher, a standout running back from Horseheads, has been named the winner of the 62nd Annual Ernie Davis Award. This prestigious award is given to the top high school football player in the area and is a significant honor in the sports community.
The Ernie Davis Award is named in honor of the late Ernie Davis, who was the first Black player to win college football’s Heisman Trophy. Known as “The Elmira Express,” Davis left a lasting legacy in the world of football.
Mosher was honored at the Kiwanis Club Luncheon held at the Clarion Inn in Elmira, where he was recognized for his outstanding performance and contributions to his team. This award is a testament to his hard work and dedication to the sport.
