Hugh Jackman Teases Wolverine Return in Avengers: Doomsday

NEW YORK, NY — Fans are buzzing about the potential return of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine in Marvel’s upcoming film, Avengers: Doomsday. During an appearance on The View, Jackman hinted at his involvement but stopped short of a confirmation.
When asked about the rumors of his comeback, the 56-year-old actor joked, “I really can’t say much. Except, when you say ‘appear,’ it’s more like dominate and destroy every other [character]. I’m kidding,” he added with a laugh. Jackman did emphasize, however, that he had no further details to share.
Jackman is not alone in speculation. The film will also feature fan-favorites from the X-Men franchise, such as Patrick Stewart as Professor X, Ian McKellen as Magneto, and James Marsden as Cyclops. The Russo Brothers, known for their work on the Avengers series, are directing the movie which is set to debut on May 1, 2026.
Despite the excitement, neither Jackman nor Ryan Reynolds, who plays Deadpool, has been confirmed for the film yet. According to reports, Robert Downey Jr. will return as Doctor Doom, adding to the anticipation surrounding the star-studded cast.
Jackman reminisced about his early days auditioning for Wolverine, recalling a stressful experience at customs in Los Angeles. “When the customs agents heard I was Wolverine, they exploded,” he said. This comic relief reflects Jackman’s longstanding connection to the character.
As filming for Avengers: Doomsday continues in the UK, Marvel fans eagerly await more information and potential announcements, possibly at the upcoming San Diego Comic-Con. With rumors swirling and excitement building, it remains to be seen just how involved Jackman will be in the next chapter of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
