Hurricanes Expect Two Players Back as They Face Sabres Tonight
RALEIGH, N.C. – The Carolina Hurricanes are expected to see the return of forwards William Carrier and Eric Robinson when they host the Buffalo Sabres tonight at the Lenovo Center.
Carrier and Robinson have been sidelined with injuries since Oct. 23 but participated in the morning skate on Saturday. They skated alongside Jesperi Kotkaniemi during line drills, indicating they are ready to play.
To make roster adjustments for their return, Bradly Nadeau was reassigned to Chicago on Friday night, while Mark Jankowski began the day as the extra forward. On the defensive line, Jalen Chatfield will not play due to an upper-body injury, and Joel Nystrom is expected to slide into his spot next to K'Andre Miller.
Shayne Gostisbehere also skated this morning but remains out with a midsection injury. Hurricanes head coach Rod Brind’Amour noted that Pyotr Kochetkov will start in goal, aiming to build on his last performance where he recorded his 11th career shutout against New York.
As the Hurricanes prepare, they aim for their third consecutive victory after defeating the Minnesota Wild 4-3 in their last matchup. They currently hold a record of 9-4-0 and sit third in the Metropolitan Division.
The Buffalo Sabres enter the game with a record of 5-5-4. They recently had a seven-game point streak snapped after being shut out by the St. Louis Blues. The Sabres will also be missing captain Rasmus Dahlin, who is away from the team due to personal matters.
Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET, with coverage available on the FanDuel Sports Network South and local radio stations.
