India West Indies Cricket Match

NEW DELHI, India — India kept its lead against the West Indies on Day 4 of the second Test match, needing just 58 runs to win. After bowling out the West Indies for 390 runs, India entered the crease needing 121 runs to clinch the series 2-0.

Jomel Warrican picked up Yashasvi Jaiswal early in the Indian innings, but KL Rahul and Sai Sudharsan built a solid partnership to keep India on track. By the end of Day 4, India stood at 63 runs for the loss of one wicket, needing just 58 more runs for victory.

Earlier in the match, the West Indies had a strong batting performance with John Campbell scoring 115 and Shai Hope adding 103 runs. Their partnership revitalized the West Indies after being forced to follow on. The duo formed a crucial 177-run stand that put the West Indies in a fighting position.

With each passing session, the pressure shifted between the teams. West Indies showed resilience under pressure, earning their first session win of the series after Campbell and Hope’s impressive performance. India’s bowlers struggled initially, with Ravindra Jadeja eventually breaking the partnership by trapping Campbell lbw.

In the final innings, despite their efforts, the West Indies’ resistance crumbled as India’s bowlers, led by Mohammed Siraj and Kuldeep Yadav, struck at regular intervals. Siraj notably dismissed Hope, ensuring India remained in control of the game.

As stumps were called on Day 4, India was favored to wrap up the match in the final day with a modest target in sights, barring any dramatic turns in the performance of the West Indies bowlers.
