Indiana Jones and the Great Circle Launches on PS5 April 17

Redmond, Washington – Bethesda Softworks confirmed on Monday that Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will launch on PlayStation 5 on April 17, with early access available for pre-orders on April 15. The announcement featured comedic input from renowned voice actors Troy Baker and Nolan North, who shared insights about their roles in the video game industry.
Baker, known for voicing the titular character in the new game, discussed the nuances of portraying a famous adventurer like Indiana Jones during a promotional video with North, who famously voiced Nathan Drake in the Uncharted series. In the clip, North humorously mentors Baker, offering a glimpse into the responsibilities of embodying such iconic characters. “You want to make sure you bring the essence of the character to life,” North said.
This announcement comes four months after the game’s original launch on Windows PC and Xbox Series X, where The Great Circle received generally favorable reviews. The game invites players to join Indiana Jones on a globetrotting adventure, combating Adolf Hitler’s forces in a quest for powerful artifacts.
Set between Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade, The Great Circle introduces a new supporting character, Italian journalist Gina Lombardi, who is deeply invested in the adventure’s stakes. Bethesda’s promotional efforts for the game highlight two new whip abilities that enhance gameplay: ‘Open Season’ increases damage against previously attacked targets, and ‘Sleight of Hand’ enables players to disarm enemies and commandeer their weapons.
The pre-order bonuses include ‘The Last Crusade Pack,’ which offers exclusive outfits and cosmetic items to fans who secure a copy before the official release. Physical copies will be available starting March 25, while digital pre-orders are now open.
Critics have noted the game’s cinematic storytelling and immersive gameplay—aspects that Baker and North emphasized in their video discussion. “This isn’t just a game; it’s a thrilling narrative that stays true to the Indiana Jones legacy,” Baker remarked.
Following Microsoft’s acquisition of Bethesda, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle represents a strategic move toward cross-platform accessibility, inviting PS5 players into a shared gaming experience that has traditionally belonged to Xbox systems. North’s involvement, despite his ties to Sony’s Uncharted series, exemplifies this collaboration.
As the launch date approaches, players are eager to engage in whips, treasure hunts, and pulse-pounding escapades that characterize the beloved franchise. Baker concluded in the video, “It’s time to let the adventure begin!”
