IndiGo Partners with Major Airlines to Expand Long-Haul Services

NEW DELHI, India — IndiGo, India’s largest airline, announced a partnership with Air France-KLM, Virgin Atlantic, and Delta Air Lines to expand its long-haul services to North America, Europe, and Britain on June 1, 2025. The collaboration aims to enhance connectivity for travelers between India’s extensive domestic network and the international routes of its partners.
This partnership allows IndiGo to sell flights under its own brand on routes operated by the partner airlines, facilitating smoother journeys for customers traveling from India to Europe and North America. CEO Pieter Elbers stated, “This partnership represents another important milestone to pursue commercial synergies, operational excellence and innovation.”
Delta’s CEO Ed Bastian emphasized the need for direct flights to India, saying, “There’s not a more important market in aviation at the present time than in India.” Delta plans to resume flights between Atlanta and Delhi, subject to government approval.
IndiGo’s expansion comes as it also commits to enhancing its fleet, converting 30 options for Airbus A350 jets into firm orders. The airline seeks to grow its fleet to 600 aircraft by 2030 from more than 400 currently.
Additionally, IndiGo will continue its existing partnerships with Air France-KLM and Virgin Atlantic, strengthening connections between various global destinations and enhancing customer service and operational efficiency.
The partnership is set to begin operations with routes to Amsterdam and Manchester starting in July 2025, promising enhanced travel experiences for customers.
