Büro Ole Scheeren, the renowned architectural firm, has recently completed the innovative tower project named The Axiom in the bustling city of Shanghai. This groundbreaking design showcases a unique approach to tower construction that is set to redefine skyscraper architecture.

Situated in Shanghai’s vibrant Yangpu District, The Axiom towers over 900 feet, marking a significant addition to the city’s skyline. This area, known for its tech companies and prestigious universities, provides an ideal setting for this architectural masterpiece.

One of the most striking features of The Axiom is its offset core design. Unlike traditional towers where the core occupies the central space, Büro Ole Scheeren cleverly implemented an elevator bank that climbs the exterior of the tower. This unconventional approach maximizes leasable floor area and creates a visually captivating element for onlookers.

The Axiom’s standout feature, the “Sky Terraces,” offers a breathtaking panoramic view of Shanghai’s skyline. Positioned at the tower’s center, this amenity space provides a luxurious retreat for residents and visitors alike. Additionally, the tower’s bronze-clad exteriors and perforated panels add a touch of elegance and functionality to the overall design.

Büro Ole Scheeren’s visionary design extends beyond The Axiom with plans for a second tower featuring a similar offset core. The two towers are connected by an architectural marvel known as the “Culture Gate,” serving as the entrance to The Spring development. This unique feature emphasizes the firm’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of architectural innovation.
