Snakes And Ladders Web Series Prime Video

The creators and stars of the upcoming web series “Snakes and Ladders” recently opened up about their experiences working on the project and shared insights into their careers. Created by Kamala Alchemis and Dhivakar Kamal, and directed by Ashok Veerappan, Bharath Muralidharan, and Kamala Alchemis, the series is set to premiere on Prime Video on October 18, 2024.

The series revolves around four children who become embroiled in dangerous situations, exploring the consequences of their actions in a narrative inspired by the classic game. Karthik Subbaraj, known for his works in Tamil cinema, acts as the creative producer under Stone Bench Productions. “It was like a picnic,” said Bharath Muralidharan, describing the filming process, attributing the smooth experience to effective pre-production.

The directors emphasized a collaborative effort, with Bharath Muralidharan and Ashok Veerappan noting that when creative conflicts arose, they turned to Alchemis for her input. Actor Manoj Bharathiraja remarked on the unity among the three directors, stating, “Even though there were three directors, they were united in their vision.”

Naveen Chandra, who headlines the series, shared his thoughts on the prevalence of thriller scripts in his career. He expressed delight in working with three directors, further highlighting the interest generated by working with talented actors. Nandaa Dorairaj, who plays a police officer, explained his approach to acting, relying heavily on direction and script rather than excessive preparation.

Adding depth to the series, Muthu Kumar shared his experience of returning to a thriller genre, following different roles in previous works like Prime Video’s “The Village.” He highlighted the challenge of portraying his new character’s blend of seriousness and humor.

“Snakes and Ladders” is set in the fictional town of Rettamugadu, chosen to present unfamiliar locations to the audience. “We went to interior parts of Kodaikanal,” Bharath explained, emphasizing the uniqueness of the series setting.

The series introduces a genre mix rarely seen in content centered around children, combining crime comedy with dark humor elements. Kamala Alchemis mentioned the uniqueness of this blend, comparing it to films like “Pasanga” and “Goli Soda,” but noting the refreshing approach to mischievous and reckless characters.
