Inter Miami Prepares for D.C. United on Breast Cancer Awareness Night
FORT LAUDERDALE, Florida — Inter Miami CF (14W-6L-7D, 49 points) will host D.C. United (5W-15L-10D, 25 points) this Saturday, September 20, at Chase Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET.
This match will also serve as Breast Cancer Awareness Night, presented by Baptist Health Cancer Care. The first 10,000 fans to arrive will receive a limited-edition Baptist Health x Inter Miami CF pink tote bag.
As October marks Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Inter Miami and Baptist Health aim to raise awareness during the match. The organizations have designed a special t-shirt celebrating breast cancer survivors, which will be available for purchase starting in October. Proceeds will support Baptist Health Cancer Care.
Before the match, selected staff and patients from Baptist Health will be on the pitch for a pre-match ceremony, showcasing the crest alongside the players during the national anthem.
The Baptist Health Community Team will engage fans in the Baptist Health Fan Zone with activities, games, and giveaways.
Inter Miami looks to build on their recent success, coming off a 3-1 victory against Seattle Sounders FC. Star player Lionel Messi scored his 20th goal in just 21 appearances this season, joining an elite list as the fifth player in MLS history to achieve back-to-back 20-goal seasons.
Currently, Inter Miami sits sixth in the Eastern Conference standings. They can clinch a playoff spot this weekend if they win against D.C. United and New York Red Bulls either draw or lose their match.
Inter Miami’s formidable attack has contributed to 45 of the team’s 57 goals this season. Messi leads the team, followed by Tadeo Allende and Telasco Segovia, each with seven goals.
This will be the 11th all-time meeting between Inter Miami and D.C. United, with Miami holding three wins compared to four losses and three draws. Inter Miami is unbeaten against D.C. in their last four encounters, securing two wins and two draws.
