Invincible Season 3 Teases Epic Adaptation of Comic Book War

NEW YORK, NY — Season 3 of the animated series ‘Invincible‘ is set to deliver an epic showdown known as the Invincible War, a storyline fans have eagerly anticipated. The confirmed plot will see the world’s heroes teaming up to battle evil alternate-dimension versions of Mark Grayson.
Co-showrunner Simon Racioppa disclosed in an interview with Entertainment Weekly that adapting the comic book event was an exhilarating yet daunting task. “That was always a thought: ‘I hope we get lucky enough to go that many seasons to do that episode,'” Racioppa stated. His concerns centered on managing numerous characters and intricate action sequences while maintaining high-quality animation.
The climactic war derives from a one-issue narrative by writer Robert Kirkman, where villain Angstrom Levy opens portals to unleash sinister variants of Mark Grayson onto Earth. The show’s sixth episode confirms that Angstrom is alive, enhancing his threat with a new tech-boosted form.
Racioppa said, “Oh man, how are we going to do that episode? How do we do this many characters, this many locations, this much action, and keep the quality as high as we can?” He described the moment as both thrilling and nerve-racking.
The upcoming episode seven, titled “What Have I Done?” is set to premiere tonight at midnight PT on Amazon’s Prime Video. In a sneak peek featured by Entertainment Weekly, viewers get a glimpse of chaos as various Marks attack locations around the globe, including a high-security prison.
The show continues to utilize the vocal talents of Steven Yeun, who voices the attacking Invincibles. Racioppa highlighted the fun in adapting characters like Mohawk Invincible, reflecting their unique character traits through dialogue.
As anticipation builds for the episode’s release, fans can look forward to significant reveals and thrilling encounters that promise to test the heroes like never before.
