Iowa State Basketball Exhibition Game

OMAHA, Nebraska – Iowa State University basketball team is set to play its first exhibition game of the 2025-26 season against Creighton on Friday, Oct. 17, at 7:30 p.m. CT.

The Cyclones finished last season with a record of 25-10 and reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament, where they were eliminated by Ole Miss. Creighton, who had a 25-11 record last season, was the runner-up in the Big East Tournament but also fell in the NCAA Tournament, losing to Auburn, the top-seeded team, by a score of 82-70.

This exhibition matchup will provide both teams a chance to prepare for a more competitive schedule ahead. They are set to meet again during the regular season in the Players Era tournament in Las Vegas, with that game scheduled for Nov. 25 at 1:30 p.m. CT.

As the game time approaches, excitement builds, particularly around Iowa State forward Joshua Jefferson, who has attracted attention after slimming down during the offseason. The Cyclones opened the game strong with an 8-4 run, highlighted by baskets from players such as Milan Momcilovic and Killyan Toure.

Live updates and highlights from the game can be found through various media outlets as the two teams clash at the CHI Health Center. Fans are encouraged to refresh their feeds frequently for the latest developments as the action unfolds.
