Lynda Bellingham Loose Women Tribute

Television program Loose Women is set to honor former panelist Lynda Bellingham OBE with a special tribute next week, commemorating the 10th anniversary of her death. The beloved actress and TV personality passed away on October 19, 2014, after a long battle with colorectal cancer. Her husband, Michael, was at her side during her final moments.

Lynda Bellingham joined Loose Women on April 10, 2007, and quickly became a standout figure on the show alongside co-hosts like Carol McGiffin and Coleen Nolan. Over her four-year tenure, she appeared on the program more than 300 times, continuing to charm audiences with her presence. Her contributions to the show culminated in a poignant appearance in 2014, shortly before her death.

Following Bellingham’s passing, Loose Women aired two dedicated episodes to celebrate her life and contributions. Kaye Adams, a regular host on the show, announced on the October 11 episode that a special program segment dedicated to Lynda will air this coming Wednesday. The tribute will feature members of Bellingham’s family and focus on her enduring legacy both on and off the screen.

In recent conversations about upcoming television dramas, actress Julie Graham shared her experiences working with Bellingham, lauding her as “brilliant.” During this segment, Kaye Adams reiterated the plans for next week’s tribute to the late star. The upcoming segment is eagerly anticipated by loyal viewers and fans of the daytime talk show who fondly remember Bellingham’s warmth and humor.

Former Loose Women star Jane McDonald also shared personal reflections on how Bellingham positively impacted her life. McDonald, who appeared on the show from 2004 until 2010, recounted how Bellingham’s support was pivotal in her career. “I owe such a lot to Lynda because she asked me to take over her Birmingham panto for that year when she was poorly,” McDonald said.

Through this opportunity, McDonald stated that she gained further vocal training and subsequently performed in the musical Cats in 2015. “I still think Lynda’s guiding us all in our own ways,” McDonald added, describing her enduring gratitude for Bellingham’s mentorship both personally and professionally.

Loose Women airs on weekdays on ITV1 and ITVX at 12:30 p.m., continuing to hold its place as a staple of daytime television.
