Jackie Chan And Ralph Macchio In Karate Kid: Legends

Global action icon and comedy legend Jackie Chan is gearing up for several exciting projects, including the highly anticipated film ‘Karate Kid: Legends’. This new installment in the ‘Karate Kid’ franchise, set to release on May 30, 2025, reunites Chan with Ralph Macchio, who reprises his role as Danny Larusso from the original 1984 movie and the ‘Cobra Kai‘ series. Chan will once again play Mr. Han, a character he introduced in the 2010 reboot starring Jaden Smith.

The first trailer for ‘Karate Kid: Legends’ was unveiled exclusively at New York Comic Con, showcasing the return of beloved characters and introducing new ones. The trailer begins at a martial arts academy where Chan’s character recruits a young star, Ben Wang, and features a glimpse of a portrait of the late Pat Morita, who played Mr. Miyagi in the original ‘Karate Kid’ films.

In addition to ‘Karate Kid: Legends’, Jackie Chan has other projects in the works. He is set to star in ‘Panda Plan‘, a film directed by Luan Zhang, where he plays a retired screen fighter who adopts a baby panda. This film takes a meta approach, opening with Chan taking out terrorists while filming a scene for his latest movie.

Chan has also been linked to a potential sequel to the ‘Rush Hour‘ series, although details are still scarce. Interestingly, it has been revealed that Chan was once offered the role of the villain in the sequel to the 1993 film ‘Demolition Man‘ but declined the opportunity at the time).
