Jake Paul Gervonta Davis Boxing Match

Miami, Florida – Jake Paul’s highly anticipated exhibition boxing match against Gervonta Davis has been canceled, Most Valuable Promotions announced Monday night. The fight was set for November 14 at Kaseya Center as part of a Netflix streaming event.

The cancellation follows a civil lawsuit filed against Davis by his ex-girlfriend, Courtney Rossel, who accused him of battery, aggravated battery, false imprisonment, kidnapping, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

“Our team has worked closely with all parties to navigate this situation responsibly,” said Nakisa Bidarian, CEO of Most Valuable Promotions. “While we will not be moving forward with this event, our plan still remains for Jake Paul to headline an event on Netflix in 2025. Details regarding a new date, location, Jake’s opponent, and additional bouts will be shared as soon as they are finalized.”

Initially, the bout had drawn significant attention as it would have seen Davis, the current WBA 135-pound champion, face Paul, who usually fights at heavyweight. Davis holds an impressive record of 30 wins, 0 losses, and 1 draw, with 28 knockouts. Paul, on the other hand, has a record of 12 wins and 1 loss, with 7 KOs.

Past legal issues have surrounded Davis. Earlier this year, a domestic violence case involving the mother of his two children was dropped. He was sentenced to 90 days of house arrest and three years of probation following a hit-and-run incident in Baltimore in 2023. His history of legal troubles prompted Most Valuable Promotions to seek an alternative opponent for Paul in hopes of keeping the November event.

Despite the cancellation, fans who purchased tickets through Ticketmaster will receive automatic refunds, while those who bought tickets from secondary markets will need to contact those platforms for assistance. The promotion is working on securing a new opponent for Paul to maintain his event schedule.
